Causes and Treatment of Hair Loss
There are bad habits that contribute to hair loss. One is mass consumption of processed foods. Processed foods often lack the vitamins and minerals needed to maintain a healthy hair.
The best way to get some of those lost nutrients is by eating some uncooked raw vegetables. You could have a salad for example. You can also get some of your foods from natural health food stores like Whole Food Market or Trader Joe’s. You can also take vitamin and mineral supplements instead. However, unlike food sources, you can overdose taking supplements.
Second is drinking too many sodas that are loaded with sugar. Even diet soft drinks have a lot of sugar in them. The average diet soft drink has the equivalent of 10 cubes of sugar. Non-diet soft drinks have considerably more. That's for a 12 ounce cup! They aren't considering the 32 ounce super sized drink you get at your local fast food restaurant.
Third is eating too much sugar. Most people don't realize just how much sugar they consume every day. The average person consumes 20 teaspoons of sugar a day (the average teenager 34). Sugar can deplete the body of nutrients and raise adrenal levels. The elevated adrenal levels cause the body to produce more androgen and cause androgenic hair loss.
Another thing that causes hair loss is bad grooming. Do not comb or brush your hair with fine. Hair straightens and detangles much easier when hair is wet. However, the stress on the hair shaft is immense and you could damage your hair considerably by continuing to comb your hair while wet. That also goes for brushing your hair as well.
Over brushing or over combing the hair will cause damage to your hair. It might look nice but in reality brushing your hair excessively could contribute to hair loss. The 100 brush stroke is just a lie.
Clean hair is always a good thing but not when you are constantly shampooing your hair. Too much shampooing could strip your hair of the nutrients that it needs for healthy growth.
A shampoo with a pH level of 5.5 is ideal. Don't buy shampoos that include conditioners. Shampoo and conditioner products are often very weak. The stand-alone shampoos and conditioners are often much more powerful.
Antidandruff shampoos are too harsh for your hair. They contain formaldehyde, an ingredient that is cancer causing and dangerous to your entire system. They also contain selenium sulfate, a substance that is known to cause degeneration of the liver. Polyvinyl Pyrrlidone Plastic and cresol are both very toxic and also found in most anti-dandruff shampoos.
Always poor the shampoo into your hands and then rub it into your scalp. If you pour it into the hair at onespot it could gunk up and could cause you problems. Make sure you massage the shampoo into your hair with your finger tips and palms but not with your fingernails.
